About Laguna Hills

Laguna Hills has everything a family could hope for from its city – and more. This city features quiet residential neighborhoods, two bustling commercial areas including the region’s largest hospital, and an outstanding community center. This town of nearly 33,000 prides itself in fostering and maintaining a close-knit, family-oriented community, not unlike thousands of other towns populating the state and nation. What sets this town apart from those others, however, is the staggering beauty of south Orange County. Laguna Hills is a unique blend of 11,000 residential homes and more than 600 commercial businesses, the latter tucked neatly away into two prominent areas. The main commercial area includes approximately 2 million square feet of retail, restaurants, professional office and medical related building space that has been designated the Urban Village. The second area includes 350-plus acres of commercial and industrial properties and is known as Furniture Row and the Laguna Hills Business Park. Within these twin commercial areas sits some of Orange County’s finest medical and shopping facilities; based in Laguna Hills but serving hundreds of thousands throughout South Orange County. Saddleback Memorial Medical Center is the City’s largest employer. They have provided services to the entire county for three decades and are one of the state’s most advanced critical care centers. Another regional gem is the sprawling Laguna Hills Mall with more than 110 stores, three anchor stores and an upstairs food court. The city has 14 public parks and the new 18-acre Laguna Hills Community Center and Sports Complex. This state-of-the-art facility offers a roomy gymnasium, a unique fossil exhibit, a popular art gallery with rotating exhibits, a technology brand of the Orange County Public Library, and a banquet area known as the “Heritage Room.” The accompanying Sports Complex features softball, baseball and soccer fields; a skateboard park; a roller hockey rink; picnic shelters and a “prehistoric” playground for children. Laguna Hills’ most popular event is the 4th of July Independence Day Celebration with festivities including rock climbing, games, food, music, and a fireworks display. Points of Interest include: Fossilized coral reef in Lomas Park, Costeau Park Fossil Site, Avila Adobe Site and the Community Center & Sports Complex.
